One Lump or Two - The Book

THIS AWARD WINNING BOOK IS AVAILABLE TO BUY NOW !!

Is cancer funny?
That’s a good question.
How often do we associate cancer with death and misery? Most of the One Lump Or Two?time. How often do we associate cancer with laughing and smiling? Not often. However, I discovered that laughter is the best form of medicine when dealing with cancer. But when you write a story about living with cancer, it’s impossible not to write about the emotional turmoil that goes with it.  Yes there are parts in the book relating to my fight that aren’t funny, but I will always try to brighten these times up with humour and hopefully you’ll see the lighter side of these times.

“….there’s nothing left to say now about my experience of having testicular cancer. I’ve said it all. Oh hang on. There’s one more thing I need to say. If Santa Claus gives you any advice on looking for lumps, then don’t listen to him. He only checks his sack once a year! That’s not good. Now if Postman Pat wants a chat about looking for lumps, that’s fine. He checks his sack daily!”

“One Lump or Two?” is a true story about one man’s fight against testicular cancer.

“Testicular cancer affects around 2000 men each year in the UK….Darren Couchman was one of them….if you are young and male it could be you next….if it was to be you, then this book is possibly the best treatment other than surgery.”

Darren was diagnosed at the age of 27 and a hard fight lay ahead.
However, Darren fought his cancer with his secret weapon….humour.

Full of emotion, inspiration and bags of laughter, this award winning story tells the unique way of how an ordinary bloke dealt with the terrifying news of having testicular cancer.

"Speaking as an eight year testicular cancer survivor I can honestly say Darren Couchman has knocked the proverbial nail on the head with his sidesplittingly hilarious but brutally honest account of fighting testicular cancer and living through it. If anything, I think this book is better than Lance Armstrong's account of having cancer (Its not about the bike), in that Darren explains how to do a self examination. BUY THIS BOOK, IF YOU ARE A SURVIVOR OR NOT, AS IT MAY STILL SAVE YOUR LIFE."

"I bought this book after seeing a video on YouTube, just to support the cause really as my Dad and Uncle are having prostate problems at the moment.

What I wasn't expecting was to have a bloody good laugh. I took it to the hairdressers to read and I laughed and laughed and laughed. People kept asking me what I was reading as it was obviously very humorous. I must confess some parts were a bit rude but Darren's humour helped him to face cancer.

Just when I wanted a real good cry at one point it was followed by more jokes and I laughed even more.

I urge everyone to buy it. My brother picked it up in Tesco and flicked through as we walked around the shop and he couldn't stop laughing too. Brilliant!!

"What a great read this book is. While being very informative with the serious subject of testicular cancer the book is also very funny. Darren has been through so much with his own fight against testicular cancer and had to deal with his parents death when he was 19, but has come through it all a very strong man.

This book is a must read for both men and women of all ages even if they have no experience of cancer. For those who have had cancer then you will be able to relate to what Darren has been through. He describes in great detail what he went through and his feelings and this book should make all men and women aware that cancer can strike anyone and if caught in time can be treated. Buy the book and you will laugh your head off most of the time but you will cry at times. I could not put this book down and hope Darren puts pen to paper soon and writes another cracking book."
